October brings 1st Annual American Cheese Month

Posted: 9/19/2011

Not that every month isn't 'cheese month' at Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese, but we're especially excited for this one. The American Cheese Society announced a first ever American Cheese Month and will be celebrating from the end of September to the beginning of November. We're right with them as we have booked a few fun events - and hope you can join us.

October 4-8: World Dairy Expo
Not only focusing on cheese, the World Dairy Expo is hosted every year in Madison. Interact with dairy-enthusiasts from all over the world, say hi to the cows and try some fabulous cheeses. Give yourself a full day for this one - there's a lot to see.

October 14th, 3:00-6:00pm: Sendik's Food Market, Greenfield, WI

Join us for a spook-tacular demo where we will be serving Petit Frère® and get this - Pumpkin and Mascarpone-filled whoopie pies. Want the recipe? You'll have to stop by!

October 21-23rd: Madison Food & Wine show at the Alliant Energy Center. We can't wait to dish up some great cheeses and share some of our favorite pairings with you. Have some favorites of your own? Please share them with us!

November 4-5th: Wisconsin Cheese Originals Festival

Buy your tickets here!

We will be attending tours, workshops and serving cheese at the Meet the Cheesemaker event. George will be presenting at a seminar titled: Creating Dairyland: A Conversation About How Cows Saved Wisconsin.

You may not realize it, but we are all very fortunate to have such fantastic cheese produced right here in the U.S. Of course we all have our favorite imported cheeses, but many more Americans are learning about the great cheeses they can buy domestically.

What are some of your favorite American-made cheeses? What fun events will you be attending (or hosting) during American Cheese Month?
