A yummy side dish!
Ingredients
8 ounces Crave Brothers Mascarpone
1 egg
1 Tbsp chopped green olives
1 Tbsp chopped dried tomatoes, no oil
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
1 tsp drained capers
1 tsp dried currants
1/2 tsp orange zest
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup olive oil
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
garnish- sea salt
Mascarpone Herb Spread
8 ounces Crave Brothers Mascarpone
2 Tbsp milk
1 tsp honey mustard
1 Tbsp snipped flat leaf parsley
1 Tbsp snipped oregano
1 clove garlic, minced
Preparation
For the sables combine all ingredients except the flour in a medium bowl; beat till smooth.
Add the flour and stir till well mixed.
Transfer the dough to a flat surface and roll into a 1 inch by 12 inch log.
Wrap in plastic wrap and freeze 1 hour.
Slice the log into 1/2 inch rounds and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Garnish with the sea salt then bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 35 minutes or till golden.
Cool the sables on a wire rack then transfer to a serving basket.
For the spread process all ingredients till smooth then transfer to a bowl and place in the basket with the sables.
