Lavender is a unique flower that has a strong aroma and pairs well with sweet creams like Mascarpone,
2 tablespoons dried edible lavender flowers *
2/3 cup mild honey, slightly warmed
3 cups French style vanilla ice cream
1 cup Crave mascarpone cheese, room temperature
Bring lavender and 1 cup water just to a boil in a 2-quart heavy saucepan over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, and then remove pan from heat. Let steep, covered, 30 minutes. Pour through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl and discard lavender. Stir in honey and set mixture aside to cool to room temperature.
Transfer ice cream to a bowl and microwave 15 seconds to soften slightly. Add mascarpone and lavender-honey mixture, and stir well. Transfer to an airtight container, tightly cover, and harden for at least 2 hours in freezer.
